First Post from Denver

Well, it’s done. Woody and I packed up all our worldly belongings and spent four days last week driving cross country from NYC to Denver. To say it was hard to leave is an understatement and it all still feels a bit unreal. I miss my friends, my usual routine and knowing where I’m going. It’s like we’re on a weird vacation where we packed way too much and decided to stay in an apartment rather than a hotel. I start my new job tomorrow so I imagine it will begin to sink when I start going to meetings and answering emails. God, I have to say I am really looking forward to having an empty inbox!

I haven’t been out running yet as the weekend has been a bit hectic but our apartment sits near a park and I plan to run – or try to run – soon! I hear it takes a bit of time to get acclimated to running at this altitude so it will be interesting to see how this goes! I plan to take the run/walk approach.

That’s it for tonight. I hope to have some more interesting stuff for you soon!

What was your favorite part of this past weekend? * Do you have big plans for the July 4th holiday this week?

You need to change your profile info under your picture now that you've moved! What is your new job? I missed that piece of info. Congrats on making the big move. XXXO Aunt Peggy

Oh you are so right! I'll get to that soon! I'll be doing PR for a really great firm in Boulder.

Welcome to Denver!!! In addition to the nearby park, you have quick access to the path and greenbelt system--you can easily get on the Platte River path or the Cherry Creek path. For great ice cream, head across the bridge in your top photo and head up the hill across another similar bridge until you find the giant milk can (Little Man Ice Cream). There are also a bunch of great restaurants there too: Linger, Lola, Vita, and Root Down isn't far either. Lots of great breweries too. If you need something to read, head over to Tattered Cover, at the end of the Sixteenth Street Mall. This week is supposed to be much cooler than last week's mid-nineties, so it'll be perfect for logging some acclimation runs. There are so few Colorado running blogs, I'm excited you'll be a "new" one!
