Friday evening I ended the work week on a good note leaving work a little early (although I was one of the last people in the office) and getting back in time to head over to Commons Park for a yoga class by the Platte River. A nearby yoga studio – Root Yoga – organizes the monthly Yoga by the River summer series that welcomes different teachers each time and benefits a local organization; a DJ handles the music. A lot of people showed up, including a good number of guys. Maybe I’ll get Woody to come to the August event with me!
Practicing yoga as the sun went down and the temperatures cooled was a perfect way to end the week. And I was a lucky raffle winner and went home with a pair of yoga socks.
I took another yoga class this morning, at the Lululemon store in Cherry Creek. They start with a 5k run before yoga, but given it was raining when we woke up, I decided to workout in the gym then head over for yoga. It was another great class, a bit different than I’ve done before as there was not one sun salutation, but I loved the focus on balance and found myself reaching poses I haven’t been able to do before! The teacher was from Vital Yoga; I think I’ll check out that studio soon.
Time to close up for the night so I can get some sleep tonight before another week begins.
August is almost here, what are you hoping to do before summer ends?

Congrats on the raffle win. Weren't we just saying that we never win? Let me know if the socks help.
I'd like to go on vacation before the summer ends and actually take time off. I think that is necessary right now!
I am hoping to get started on my training cycle and remember that I shouldn't complain about the heat because soon enough I won't be able to stand the cold weather!
