I bought new shoes yesterday. Running shoes. I haven’t bought new running shoes since last summer, so it’s about time now I’m starting to run again!
Sunday morning after working out at the gym, I ran home. I use the word ‘ran’ very loosely because it was pretty slow and it wasn’t far. But still, I ran and it felt great! This is a huge step forward for me and was such a great relief! To celebrate, I decided to buy new shoes!
I’ve been running in Brooks Ravenna for a while now and like them, but I decided to try on a few others just for the fun of it, and to make sure there wasn’t anything else out there that were better. The guy helping me at Jack Rabbit gave me a pair of Ravenna 3 to try on first and wow, they felt quite a bit different from the Ravenna 2 I’ve been wearing, but a good different. He gave me something from Asics and a pair from Mizuno, but I didn’t like either of those very much. Just didn’t feel right. Last pair I tried was a Brooks Pure Cadence. I really liked these as well. Very light weight and while the toe box was definitely much more snug than the Ravenna 3, it was more form fitting rather than rigid. I almost chose the Pure Cadence but decided to stay with the Ravenna 3, at least while I start running again, because it’s the closest to what I’m used to. Don’t want to mix everything up all at once!

i am in the brooks ravenna ....
I have the Brooks Pure Flows and love them, i also run in Brooks Trances, Asics Kayanos and Mizuno Inspires. Not in love with the Mizunos and think i will go to all Brooks when these ones all wear out!
Yay for a run and new shoes! I used to wear the Ravenna before my transformation to minimalism. Now I am in the Brooks Pure Connect and they are working beautifully for me.

I usually find that I stick to the same models as well. I run in the Adidas Adizero Boston, and have for quite some time, now! Just love them!
I really need to buy some new running shoes, I've been wearing really old trainers for ages now, and they're starting to fail me!
My favorite type of shoe shopping! I'm glad you hear you like the Ravenna 3...I looooved the originals, but the 2's and I did not get along at all. I bought the Cadences to try them out, I'll let you know how they go!
