Cautiously Optimistic

I definitely was not planning to post today but I have to. This morning I went to the gym, per usual, but had the best workout I’ve had in a really, really long time! I was energized by my sweat session Saturday morning, but today was even better! My legs feel great, not heavy and stiff. I fit in a turn on the Stairmaster and elliptical, and added in some strength training and stretching to round it out. Usually waking up at 5am means I’m a little foggy minded for the first part of my workout and it takes me a little bit to get set up and started, but today I was determined and got right to it!

This workout definitely gives me hope about my recovery, that I’ll only get better and stronger, but at the same time I am being mindful of the fact that just because I had a couple great workouts doesn’t mean I can go all wild and crazy and think I can do anything! I have learned that lesson before and I don’t want to face it again. I will be cautious but I’m also going to be happy about the little accomplishments and enjoy the rest of the day on this high!

Come to think of it, maybe how good I felt had something to do with our fun evening at Top of the Rock last night listening to a jazz trio, drinking wine and enjoying a beautiful view!

so true, one great workout often leads me to over do it. but instead enjoy them and keep going nice and steady!
