In another post I mentioned that my muscles have been really tight since I started picking up my cardio since my injury. Perfectly timed, the nice people at Professional Therapy MuscleCare by Dr Chris Oswald reached out to me and asked if I'd try their product! I think they knew I needed something!
They sent me two products - the MuscleCare pain relieving ointment and the roll-on version. I chose to try out the ointment and Woody didn't mind trying it either. We've both used it a few times, before and after working out and also before bed.
According to the package insert, MuscleCare:
- relieves pain
- reduces inflammation
- minimizes muscle tension and spasm
- promotes healing
- improves circulation
- can penetrate muscles and joints
- can be used both proactively and reactively (before and after workouts)
Woody and I both noticed a cooling sensation when we first put it on that lasts for several minutes. It soaks in quickly and isn't greasy, which is definitely nice. There is a menthol scent, which does fade, but you may not want to head out for a non-fitness activity right after putting it on unless you don't mind a few looks or questions. To try it out, one morning I put some on my legs before the gym while Woody was in the other room with the door closed. As soon as he came out he asked if I had used it because he could smell it. It's not a bad scent at all, just noticeable. But, the tension relief is worth it.
Along with stretching, Woody and I will continue to use this product to loosen stiff muscles and I'm very thankful to have had the chance to give it a try.
Now, it's your turn!
One lucky reader will win their own Professional Therapy MuscleCare Roll-On to try. I know you runners, walkers, gym-goers, and bikers have aches and pains every once in a while and are looking for a way to soothe them. Here's your chance.
Two ways to enter, leave a separate comment for each entry. The giveaway ends at 8pm Wednesday June 15th.

My IT bands are like guitar strings according to my PT guy. Lately my upper back muscles are so sore - I know it is from golfing....
I actually don't 'like' this stretch but I know that pigeon pose is good for me so I force it into my routine.
My hamstrings seem to be bothering me the most.

My piriformis muscles tend to bother me the most, and then it creates a lot of sciatica pain!

No necessarily a muscle, but my ankle is problematic!
My favourite stretch is the one where you stand up on a bench and lower your heel down. No idea what it's called though!

Hamstrings!!!
I like to cross my legs, then lean over them to get a good stretch. Then I switch legs then do it again. Works great.
My IT band has been feeling like an overstretched rubber band lately.
My favorite stretch is Warrior 2.
