What's Next? Vote For Your Choice.

For my birthday, my amazing husband, Woody, gave me a Kindle! I had casually mentioned a few times that I thought a Kindle would be great so I could easily throw it in my purse and read books on my commute no matter how large they might be. While the bus and subway can be great places to read, it's hard when the book you want to read is only available in hardcover and weights 3lbs! Kind of gets in the way and Woody knows all too well. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before he has one too, but I seriously have a great husband (who I'm missing right now since he's in Milwaukee on business for a few days).

we're pros at taking pictures of ourselves!
Anyway, the Kindle store has this great feature where you can sample books for free. You get the introduction and maybe a chapter or two, but I love this feature. I can't tell you how many times I've bought a book because I've heard it's great only to start it and two chapters in realize I can't get into the book at all. Please tell me I'm not alone here!

So, instead of jumping right into another book, I decided to try out a few that I've been interested in reading, but now I can't decide which to read first! This is where you come in. Which book do you want me to review next?

I also voted for The Help. It's a great read. The movie version is coming out this fall, I think.

Just started reading Mile Markers. I'm enjoying it so far but I'm only 2 chapters in. I agree with everyone else's comments, The Help is one of the best books I've read in a long time. I couldn't wait to get out of work everyday to read it on the train. Amazing characters and a great story!! Enjoy!

how cool is that gift! i voted for kara goucher's book cause i'd like to see what she says to us non-magically-gifted runner girls. lol!

I love my Kindle! They really are the best. Hands down, best book this year is Freedom by Jonathon Franzen. Loved, loved, loved it!

Just an FYI on the Goucher book- if you read Runner's World and do your share of running (obviously you do), it probably won't be super helpful. I love her to death and think she's amazing, but I wasn't overly impressed.

HAppy belated birthday to you!
Nick wants a Kindle too, but I keep telling him I won't buy him one until he actually STARTS to read! I read all the time, just for fun, but I've never actually see him read anything other than Sports Illustrated.
My favorite and most memorable book this year was the Ominivore's Dilemma, but there have been others, I just can't remember! I know there was one called The Swimming Pool, which was very entertaining.

Glad you have a kindle, I love mine though really love it for the newspapers. It's great to flip through and clip and not get messy. I voted for the Help because I read a lot of non-fiction for work. I don't always love running books though I love running. Kristen Armstrong can get a little Bible-y for me. I have Blood, butter and Bones to read next. I loved Poser, The Help and actually enjoyed Hymn of the Tiger mother lately.
