Running Along the Rhine

Over the last few weeks I’ve done a bit of traveling. Minneapolis, Switzerland and Denver – with brief stops in NYC between. Being in four time zones and taking eight flights in two weeks can be a little draining, but also a lot of fun and quite enlightening! While I wasn’t able to keep up with my regular workouts and my diet was completely determined by the country or state in which I was staying, I did my best to make good choices and get as much exercise as I could.

In Basel, Switzerland, I was able to use the hotel gym a few days and also went running twice. I know I’ve said it before, but I love running in new cities, it’s such a great way to explore. Although, I do find that I can’t expect to have a fast run because I either stop too many times to take pictures or I get lost. Both of which happened in Basel! Here are a few of the pictures I took during both times out on the streets.

Post Run (#1) Breakfast – Bircher Muesli (essentially yogurt, muesli and fruit. Delish!)

Post Run (#2) – Elation that I made it to my destination, SBB Bahnhof (train station) after getting lost!

And just for fun, the Hudson River back here in NYC this morning on my run. I love Spring.

How’s your weekend going? * What do you miss most about home when you’re traveling?
